Who we are

Insider Tutoring Limited (company no. 16993407, registered in England and Wales; registered office 167–169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF) is the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact us about anything in this notice at insidertutoringltd@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Enquiries: the name, email address, phone number, student's year group, subjects and message you send us through the enquiry form, by email or by message.
• Tutoring: the student's name, year group, school programme and subjects; parent or payer contact details; lesson dates, lengths and notes on progress; and invoices and payments.
• Messages: emails and WhatsApp messages between families, tutors and our team about arranging and running lessons.

We do not ask for special category information (for example health details). If you choose to tell us something like this because it affects how a student learns best, we use it only to support that student.

How we use it, and why we're allowed to

• To reply to your enquiry and match a tutor — because you asked us to (steps before a contract) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
• To arrange and deliver lessons, keep parents updated, and invoice for lessons — to perform our agreement with you.
• To keep financial records — because the law requires it.
• To keep our service safe and improve it — our legitimate interests.

We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only with the tutor and academic coordinator working with the student, and with service providers who help us run the business: Netlify (website and enquiry form), Google (email), Supabase and Vercel (our lesson-records platform), Cloudflare (privacy-friendly website analytics, which does not use cookies) and WhatsApp (messaging). Some of these providers may process information outside the UK; where they do, they are required to use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't lead to tutoring: up to 12 months.
• Student and lesson records: for as long as we tutor the student, and then up to 2 years.
• Invoices and payment records: 6 years, as required for tax purposes.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to move it to another provider. Parents can make these requests on behalf of their child. Email us and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit.

We'll update this page if anything changes, and show the new date at the top.
